We use the exact Fisher relation — (1 + after-tax rate) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1 — rather than simply subtracting inflation. At Kenyan inflation levels the difference is small but real, and subtracting flatters the answer.
The inflation figure is pre-filled with the latest published 12-month rate from CBK's series (August 2026). Your own inflation is not the national average — change it if your spending looks nothing like the basket.
