Two choices worth knowing about. We use the real yield — what the investment earns after tax and after inflation — because an income that does not keep pace with prices is not the income you asked for. And the capital figure assumes you live on the return and never touch the principal, which is the strict version. If you are willing to spend the capital down over a fixed number of years, the number is smaller; that is a different calculation and a different kind of decision.
Yields are yours to enter — we do not publish a rate we cannot source, and fund yields change weekly. Current T-bill rates come from CBK's auction results; money market fund yields are published by each fund manager and are reported net of fees but before withholding tax. Inflation is pre-filled from the latest published CBK figure (August 2026). Nothing here is a recommendation to buy anything, and a yield quoted today is not a promise about next year.
The yield in that box moves every week.
The Brief follows what CBK auctions, what the MPC does to the rate everything is priced off, and what that means for the number you just typed in.
